"If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath, if you call the Sabbath a DELIGHT, if you honor it by not going your own way, then you will find your JOY in the Lord." - Isaiah 58:13-14

The Sabbath is very intimately connected to my spiritual growth. Yes, it was the Holy Spirit who, Sabbath after Sabbath initiated the process that led me into a soul saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Not content with my salvation, Jesus then wooed my heart into a place where my Savior also became my first love. Not satisfied with my puppy love, God then led my heart to a place of maturity through challenging and encouraging Sabbath adventurers.

Later, the Holy Spirit used the Sabbath to reshape my heart so that our love affair would have a foundation that transcend feelings of happiness or comfort. Then my Jesus patiently used the Sabbath to establish my identity in His Kingdom which also revealed my purpose and mission here on Earth. So even now, whenever I feel most broken and desperate as a man, a husband, a father, or a leader, the Holy Spirit calls me away from people for the entire Sabbath day to restore my heart.
